BREAKFAST IN THE CLASSROOM!

Wednesday, 21 March 2018
When we travel to England we all love that moment. That moment when we wake up in a hotel, go downstairs ( going down those old Victorian carpeted stairs), enter the breakfast room in the same way a child enters the living room on Christmas day.
We feel the adrenaline going through our veins. We look around at all those display full of food and drinks and we feel hungry, so hungry that we feel the urge to try everything. Even if  we only have a cup of coffee for breakfast at home. But.... when in Englad... do as the British do ( even though not even the British people have that English breakfast nowadays!)
And what happens when you are a teacher, you teach English and you want your students to try that feeling? What happens when you would like to see that same sparkle in their eyes?
Teaching about English and American breakfast is not enough.
In order for them to really understand those cultural traditions, they have to live them and experience them.
So... if you can't take them to England, you take England ( and the Usa) to them. Or at least you try.

Before laying the table like this we have written this on the board.
They suggested all the ingredients and we had studied them before this lesson

We boiled water for tea, we toasted pieces of bread, we grilled the hot dogs, cooked the mushrooms ( at home) and the bacon ( at home). This was the result:

We cooked breakfast for all the teacher in the school and the students were so happy!
You should have seen that sparkle in their eyes... just like being in England in that hotel room!
Thank you,
Miss Alex
